Why?!

The more I study about Malawi, the more I think “Why did you do that?”.

I'm not just talking about national life I'm talking about government level projects.

Here is a example,

It is because of Malawi is landlocked country, transport costs are the highest in the region and account for more than 50% of prices of goods.

There is a big river runs from the lake of Malawi to Indian ocean through Mozambique. So Malawian government started to make a inland port in the river. And if this project is succeeded, it would cut the current distance 800+Km to about 240Km to the Indian ocean.

Ah, sounds good!!

Here is the problem.

After they started construction, the government found that the depth of water of river goes through the Mozambique is too low that container-ship can't go through it.

“Why?!”

Why they didn't research before they start the project?

I can't really comment on government level problems for now, but I found some gap between my common sense.

Through observing few schools in Malawi, I found the students have no reason. Even secondary School(Junior high to high school) students can't think logically. There are some reasons for this. One I found is that students are not required to think logically, even in Science and Math. As far as my common sense for these subjects, they require us to think logical and create answers. But observing the schools those classes aren't taught like that.

I found one of my goals for this volunteering. It is not pushing my common sense but through teaching in local school to improve Malawian teacher's teaching skills and improve students logical thinking.

Traveling and living foreign countries, there are a lot of differences.

Like or more than the time when I was in U.S.A for 1 year I hope I can find the culture and deep thought of people in Malawi.

中等学校(高校への中学校)学生さえ論理上考えることができません。
このいくつかの理由があります。
私が見つけたものは、学生がサイエンスと数学でさえ、論理上考えることは要求されないということです。
これらの主題用の私の常識まで、それらは、論理的で、考えて、かつ答えを作成することを私たちに要求します。
しかし、学校を観察して、それらのクラスはそのように教えられません。
私は、志願のためにゴールのうちの1つを見つけました。
それは私の常識を押していないが、地元の学校で改善するために教えることによってマラウィ共和国ではありません、教師の教授技術、また学生論理的思考を改善します。
諸外国を旅行するおよび実践して、多くの違いがあります。
1年間U.S.Aにいた時のように、あるいはその時を超えて、私は、マラウイで人々の文化および深い考えを見つけることができることを望みます。
